Since the 18th century, there has been evidence of societies worldwide that have utilized the notion of landscape as a narrative of the empty plain: from a pictorial standpoint, the landscape is idyllic, motionless, and uninhabited.

The Invention of the Postcard is a three-channel installation that fuses photography, sound mixing, and writing—spanning both fiction and the essay—to question and challenge the idea of landscape as a device of power. Through visual metaphors and intervened documentary explorations, this project seeks to celebrate the complexity of every inhabited, mutable place; highlight how environments are also nourished by the foreign or the "other" and invite a questioning of our modes of consumption and our relationship with the natural world.
